Post published on 10th August 2010

Apple has launched a new online store for business-to-business resellers, including corporations, schools and Apple Consultants. The new system now supports creating templates for common orders so that proposers can create orders from existing templates or by selecting items manually. The order will then be sent to authorized purchasers for approval, and the recent order status will be tracked.

The new online store offers the following features: user experience based on your role and profile, product catalog customized to your account, quickly create a cart based on part numbers, use templates to simplify repeat ordering, find proposals for easy order conversion and detailed order lookup with 8 months of history. It’s OK to Jailbreak & Unlock Smartphones

Post published on 5th August 2010

Apple is often held up as an example of limiting the software users can install on their smartphones because it tied iPhone app installation to its own App Store. But now something has changed.

The US Copyright Office and Librarian of Congress changed the exemptions to the Digital Millenium Copyright Act on July 26th,allowing jailbreaking and unlocking smartphones. The new rules mean smartphone users can download and run applications and software not approved by the device manufacturer or the wireless carrier.

Besides, the Copyright Office also renewed its earlier ruling that allows consumers to unlock their cellphones for use on the carrier network of their choice instead of staying locked to a single service provider.

In addition to jailbreaking, all the other new rules are similar to the last set of exemptions, which were announced in November 2006.
